There was a recent claim that the coronavirus was allegedly airborne and could stay in the air up to 8 hours.
A recent post from the World Health Organization states that the coronavirus is not air borne. The virus can be transmitted to someone else in droplets from the infected person by speaking, coughing or sneezing.
It is advised to maintain a distance of 1 meter when speaking to people. This is to minimize the rate of transfer through these modes of transmission. It is also advised to disinfect surfaces to avoid the coming into contact with the virus as droplets from sneezing, coughing or speaking can land on surfaces of objects. The coronavirus is not airborne.
